the good life: that time we asked the bunk if we could make the school pay for us to go somewhere...

so this one time deej and i worked for the online curriculum development team and we wanted to travel. we were joking in a meeting and asked if the school would pay for us to go somewhere... much to our surprise the bunk told us that we could go if we wrote a paper and submitted it to a conference. naturally we were all over that idea!! we immediately began trying to write a paper on learning languages online.... needless to say we were making up every word we were writing... but we wanted to go! sister bunker kind of took over the project and revised our every word... but we were fine with that... we got accepted to present at a conference hong kong! best part was the school paid every penny. they put us up in a fancy hotel and even gave us $25 a day for food which only meant we had tons of money for shopping since you can each 3 huge meals on a dollar in hong kong. the school paid for our flights and were cheap so we had an 8 hr layover in japan... we even had to switch airports! we were actually stoked about that though because it meant we got to explore tokyo for a day. at this point deej and i were pretty good friends...downside ER came too. he can be a lot of bit grating. we tried to stay away as much as possible. but it was a little impossible...especially with the comments about missing his wife and fluffing the pillows to pretend they were her..*shudder*

then we made it to hong kong... the conference was boring! and it was mid swine flu epidemic... they wanted us to wear masks and be inside all day. deej and i weren't having that! there was lots of new food to try and michael jackson died while we were there so to me the official theme song of hong kong will always be billy jean. we got to go to the temple and it was awesome. we did baptisms for names that were B.C.! it was intense. we got yummy drinks everyday and went shopping at the ladies market every night. tons of missy missy! how much you pay?? how much?? hong kong is cleaner than i thought it would be and a good time.

so i tried to organize the pics this time but i can't figure it out... haha sooo hk first and then japan second.... out of order...
